Very inexpensive. Good response rate from central telephone centre.
"Pay and reclaim" approach may not suit everyone. There is a no-pay option, at a slightly higher price.
I came across GEM ("Guild of Experienced Motorists") a few years ago and have been very surprised that they are not promoted more. Their pricing is excellent (approximately £50 for personal cover, including full relay/home start & alternative transport etc), and on the one occasion I had a breakdown their service was excellent.
They have recently renamed the breakdown cover as motoringassist.com
