Good Points

Compact for the resolution, strong body, good zoom lens at this size. nice macro facility. excellent battery life.

Bad Points

Very grainy pics in less than sunny conditions.
Very slow 'play' feature - takes ages to scroll from image to image.
Screen is small.

General Comments

Unless the lighting conditions are GREAT you will not get clear shots with the Canon Ixus 500. The graininess of the photos are driving me nuts! I have tried changing the settings, the ISO, the lighting conditions, etc. But to no avail. I live in the UK and the minute it gets cloudy (every day) the camera struggles to get nice clean skies, less grain. Compared to friend's Fuji cameras I am disappointed, especially since I paid much more.
