The Suncrest is, fortunately, close to a good restaurant which serves first class food.
The staff are friendly.
The Entrance and Foyer disguise what lies in store to a great degree.
Bad Points
My room: Air conditioning did not work. Complained twice, still did not work.
Lifts faulty. Carpets dirty. Bathroom in need of refurbishment.
General Comments
Sol Suncrest:
The food served in the main restaurant (La Pavillion) is dire. They have achieved the impossible in that they can make the food look much better than it actually is.
Apart from the impressive entrance / foyer area, this hotel is in need of total refurbishment.
The "Poseidon Room" function room is of decent size to accomodate a few sets for Scottish Country Dancing.
Sadly the seats provided are equally in need of refurbishment.
This was my first visit to Malta and I intend to return. I will definitely NOT be staying at the so-called "4 Star Suncrest". Should the hotel exist for 100 years, it will NEVER achieve true 4 star status.
