Does what it says on the box and in all the ads and reviews.
Lots of toys to play with.
3 Online content.
MP3
Blue Tooth
3 call package/costs
Maybe battery life, but it is only a genuine 2 hour charge to full capacity. With a £2 in-car charger all power issues are resolved.
Other bad point is that it's too irresistable to put it down!
Doesn't come with the USB data link, have to buy this.
Only had my Motorola e1000 4 days but here we go! I've always had the natty phones with lots of features - usually on their first day of launch. Toys, inter-connectablity, and style is important to me.
I've been with 3 on the original LG and decided to move to the new e1000 due to all the low rate charge packages which are around. I bought online, ordered at 6:15pm it was delivered to work at 08:30am the next day (Carphone warehouse). 500 mins and 100 texts at £15 a month (via chequeback at month 11).
This thing feels and looks different to other phones, very slick and all the buttons and menu's seem to be in the right places although it does have a reasonable amount of re-configuration options including the phone or data reset option (easy to re-configure and then re-set to standard).
I have all the latest technology at home (wireless lan, robots, etc) so this thing had to fit in without wires and complexity. Blue tooth sees to all that - connected to my Dell easy peasy and transfer of pics and music is a doddle. Bought the 128 card (awaiting 256 card too). One thing I did notice is that if you load the card with music via a card reader the songs do not display in the "sounds" menu, however they are picked up by the integral MP3 application. If you load songs via Bluetooth they are displayed in the sounds as well as the mp3 application, but this is slower. In future it's either bluetooth or I will buy the proper data cable.
Not as easy as a basic Nokia for texting, however the multimedia messages are a real treat - receiving them is a joy with music and moving images. The kids tell me that you cant default in the request for receipts from messages - you have to do this every time. (PS - I bought 3 handsets for the kids too)
The online 3 web thing is pretty cool, lots of chargeable downloads and lots of free stuff too.
Also you must try the GPS mapping and quick find. Need to be outdoors but this thing will tell you to the nearest 3 meter's exactly where you are and then map street maps for things you want to find - very natty - would imagine it would be great fun in a big city.
The video camera is exceptional, the quality on playback (using the phones wide screen display) is brilliant and also very good when downloaded to a PC.
The MP3 is a new concept to me, I am now addicted, for a really special feeling lay on the bed, rest the phone on your chest looking at the screen and the stereo sound is really very, very good. Some of the installed sounds are wicked too - somehow the dual speakers do create a wrap around sound effect.
Last but not least - the alarm function can wake you with an mp3 track instead of a horrid alarm sound - makes Monday mornings slightly more bearable!
Finally, you can also make phone calls with it but the 3 reception in this area is dreadful, however most of the other services don't even work at all near here.
Buy it, does exactly what it says on the box!
