General Comments

Illmatic is a good album but its not his best. It is a very good debut album and even though it only has ten tracks its still a fantastic album. He goes for quality not quantity in this and if you hear this you will be amazed by his lyrics. The world is yours is a quality track.

    i think illmatic is nas' best album, i would want to know which album the masta reckons to be better

    illmatic is without a doubt nas' best album. to even suggest any of his other work as better confuses me. what album of his was better? it was written? stillmatic? the fact is, nas was never harder than he was here, and even he admittedly has said that he still hasn't replicated this album at any other career point. Masta, stick to your cross-seas rap music and learn to appreciate the classic old-school grime and flow that illmatic so enjoyably perfects

    Hiphopmasta are you serious? Illmaticis Nas's best album, even Jay-z said Nas never made anything as good as his debut. Jay said this when they were beefin. Illmatic influenced Jay-z, Biggie, Fabolous, Game, Eminem, Lloyd Banks...want me to keep going? When this came out dudes called Nas the second coming of Rakim man. Get some info before you write a review about something you don't know about.
