General Comments

My old Panasonic PanaSync E70 started to go on me (it served me well for over 7 yrs) so I decided to pick up the LG F700B as a replacement. I'm partial to LG computer products, mainly because of price, and availability.
A model on the market roughly 2 years now, the F700B still looks tastefully modern with it's curves and two tone gray case. The only down side to it's design are the "chrome" display settings buttons - Not only do they look out of place, they're very noisy (almost tinny sounding) when pushed. Also the attached 15 pin Analog cable is disappointing, preventing easy replacement (if needed).
Virtually effortless installation on a WinXP based system, even though the driver had to be installed through device manager. The included Colorific software on the other hand was a waste of time. It repeatedly crashed before it could finish, and Photoshop continually warned me of a defective RGB profile. Uninstalling the program and using Adobe's presets solved that problem. The OSD (On Screen Display) settings were easy to configure and the geometry is accurate. The Flatron technology is quite remarkable, although does take some getting used to, and can even appear curved at the bottom when it actually isn't (Sort of the opposite of the Parthenon's floor). Overall picture quality (colour, contrast, sharpness, etc.) is great, running at 1280 x 1024 resolution and no distortion or degradation in image quality. Movies look great, games even better, image editing is easier and concise.
I highly recommend this monitor to anyone on a budget but unwilling to sacrifice quality. Truly beautiful to look at.
