Good Points

This game had a lot of good points. The graphics were clean for the most part. There was a lot of good detail in creating your Urb (or Sim, if you will). You have a wide array of choice in skintone, facial features, body type/size and style. As for gameplay, there is a great deal of personality in each of the Urbz you interact with. There is good room for relationships and development. As well, there is a purposeful storyline and several goals for each district. This game is not something you can snooze through - each of the separate "jobs" demand attention in knowing your controller and also, efficiency.

You have a great range of styles to dress your Urb in, as well as furniture. Money wise, everything is affordable. The jobs pay pretty well and aren't hard. If you buy a refrigerator, you aren't charged per meal like you are in the PC version. There's also the option of freebies: Kicking the vending machines, diving in the dumpster or eating free food from your workplace.

Bad Points

There are a lot of "loading" points, especially when you're moving from district to district, and even into change your clothes. It's kind of frustrating at times and gets in the way of your gameplay. Also, if you're used to the convenience of purchasing furniture and wallpaper in its own little browser, you can forget it. Your sim must manually purchase goods, and in order to really get what you want - you have to travel some. In the end, I really started to miss the convenience of Sims/Sims2 on the PC.

You are given an apartment but sometimes it seems more convenient to stay in the district. Yes, you are given a complimentary bed and wardrobe - but you have to walk a fair bit to find a toilet or a sink (in some districts). The "fire code" does not allow you to lay down your own shower or furniture, so it's slightly annoying to have to travel all the way back to your apartment to have a shower and exercise.

Oh, and if you furnish your apartment with a set amount of furniture - you "unlock" a pet. You can get a bulldog, a cat or a monkey. These pets can't be picked up and moved, or deleted. Their only real purpose is to block your doorways and pee all over your floors.

General Comments

Overall, "The Urbz - Sims in the City" is yet again another Maxis achievement. I had good expectations of this game and just like all the other Sims - this one was great. The gameplay is strong with a few loading pauses, the character detail is amazing and the interaction is high. If you enjoyed any of the Sims/Sims2 on PC, you will definitely enjoy "The Urbz." From all of the Maxis created console-games, this one rates pretty damn high.
