Kasabian, Kasabian - The first thing I thought when I heard Kasabian was "Madchester is back!" except these guys aren't from Manchester. This album is a throwback to the early-nineties with echoes of Primal Scream, the Happy Mondays, Northside and even early Verve. It's full of danceable, guitar-driven, psychedelic, indie grooves that are going to be as comfortable in a nightclub as on the main stage at Reading Festival. This CD is a welcome response to the short, sharp, perky, punk edge of bands like Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party for when you just want to mellow out and have a bit of a dance, drink a pint and hang around with your mates.
