General Comments

Grand Theft Auto - Vice City - I can't believe the fuss about this rubbish. The whole thing gives me a headache. The main issue is the ludicrous handling of all the cars which feel like pushing matchbox toys around on the carpet. Revs sorted this sort of thing out 20 years ago on the BBC B micro. The Getaway is a bit better (thought the sequel is a disgrace really)and more realistic in gameplay terms.
At least it is fairly open ended in design and you can do what you like, but it is so frustrating - if they used the Driver game engine this would be seriously good.

I don't really see where this comes from, I've played this game to death and think the car handling is just as good as most dedicated driving games I've played. Obviously it's more simplistic than something like Grand Tourismo or something, mainly because there's not gears. You have to master the handbrake button to fully appreciate it. There's nothing like taking a right angle corner at full tilt, tapping the handbrake to swing the back end right around. Also, the completely different handling of the cars is really impressive, and I think pretty realistic. I would perservere with it some more, I think you'll get used to it.
