Light weight, deadly accurate, not pellet fussy.
Cocking action a little stiff on the retract stroke. Only about 35 full power shots per fill.
Purchased the S410 TDR .22 package with a Simmons 4-12x42 scope after first considering getting the Logun S16 which, in the end I felt was a little too "metallic" looking. I have 2 very good springers which I love shooting but felt that it was time to try my first PCP. This rifle would perhaps not be many peoples choice as a first time PCP but I wanted a take-down so that I could transport it around inconspicuously (I live in Central London)and I have to say that since I got it home I am delighted with this rifle's look, feel and performance.
From the briefcase-sized custom built bag it took me literally 30 seconds to assemble. Using a Hills Stirrup Pump to push about 170 bar into the neat little cylinder I then loaded 10 pellets into the rotary magazine and was good to go!
I was astounded by the accuracy of this airgun. It gave me a 1" inch group at 25 metres (which is very good for me).
Two pigeons have already met a swift end, the 2nd kill being down to the rifle's very effective moderator as the pigeon was blissfully unaware of its companion's demise not 12 feet away from it! The stock feels really comfortable to shoulder and, with a decent scope the rifle will fill any shooter with confidence. Retracting the cocking bolt back to its original position in order to chamber a pellet has shown that the bolt can stick a bit unless the hand action is controlled and smooth but I suppose thats just practice.
I was told that this rifle spits out at about 11.7 ft lbs but would need a chrony to verify. In any event I've been using Air Arms Hunter pellets (amongst others)and believe its power to match both my full UK legal limit(non FAC) springers. In summary, I am really glad I bought this airgun. I love it. Forget your military-style Take-Downs, this rifle looks and shoots great. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high performance PCP.
