General Comments
I wanted a cordless mouse for my laptop but I couldn't afford to spend too much on it. I came across this one and found it to be ideal. It costs less than £15 and it works right out of the box. All that needs to be done for it to work is to put the batteries in the mouse and the receiver in a USB port. The drivers will install themselves on a Windows 2000, NT or XP operating system automatically but Windows 98 SE needs the drivers to be installed manually (provided on a 3.5" floppy disk). Once the drivers are installed, the mouse is almost ready to use straight away - you just need to set an RF ID for the mouse to prevent it from interfering with another RF device. Once that is done the mouse is ready to use.
The buttons can be programmed to perform eight of the most commonly used tasks including auto scroll, switch application and double-click function with a single click.
To make the best of the batteries, the mouse goes in to standby mode after 10 minutes of inactivity - clicking one of the buttons will put it out of standby. The batteries will last for up to 6 hours and when the power is below 10%, a red LED will light up to show this. The USB charging cable just plugs in to another USB port and the other end plugs into the front of the mouse to charge (less than four hours for a full charge) and the mouse can still be used while charging although the charging time will increase.
Don't be discouraged by the price, this is a great mouse.
