Alone in the Dark 4 is one of those games that is highly atmospheric and very absorbing. It's a creepy game as you trawl through the mansion, solving puzzles and exploring to find the answers you are searching for.
What helps make this game a real winner is the storyline which is both complex and spine tingling. You play the role of Edward Carnby, a supernatural private eye with a great mystery to solve. You really get the feel of being a P.I as you have to sift through documents to find the information you require. Another plus is that the puzzles are also mentally challenging so the sense of achievement is much greater when you actually complete them. I also really like the lighting and flashlight effect in the game as it helps build then tension and really adds to the realism. This game is devilishly fiendish and those who scare easily should not play it, but those who like a chilling mystery game will love it.
