General Comments

Beeman GS950 .22:
After 30 years of shooting an old Crosman, I decided to treat myself to a modern, "quality", air gun in the $200 price range. The GS950 looked and felt like a great candidate so I took the plung. Initially my only issue was accuracy, but a few other minor quality issues have come up also. The best consistant group I get with this gun is 3 inches at 25 yards, which in my opinion is unacceptable. I read the owners manual where they claim 500 to 1000 rounds must be shot before the gun settles down?!. I finished my first tin of 500 pellets 2 months ago and the accuracy has not improved. I give up, the gun is going back to Cabelas who have graciously agreed to take it back. I've contacted Beeman and they seemed very pleasant, but returning the gun to them for service is a hassle, especially for someone living in New Jersey. After reading the other more positive reviews, I suspect the GS950 is typicaly a good gun and I just happened to get a lemon. I'm going to give Beeman another chance and get a GS1000 to replace this gun. I'm hoping my next review will be a positive one! I can be reached at sailbode@gis.net

Hello sailbode......I don't know your rifle, but your mention of a 'pump arm' made me look for details and I find your gun is a relatively high-powered (by British non-FAC standards) break-barrel springer.

Such a gun is extremely sensitive to 'hold' and could possibly be pellet fussy too. There is a wealth of information on those aspects on the Web which I'm sure will solve your problems provided your gun is free from any defect.

Best of luck with sorting it out and please come back and let us know how you got on. If you can beg, buy or borrow the Cardews' book, 'The Airgun From Trigger To Target', which, in my opinion is a MUST READ for anyone seriously interested in airguns, that will surely help you to sort out any problems.

I have this gun. It's terrible. It is clunky and it's not worth the money. It has a goofy kind of side kick to it when shot.

The Beeman GS950 is not even close to my Benj or my Sheridan.

I would love to know the full story on this rifle. I have a GH950 and if you read my review you will see my example of this
rifle was extremely positive. No twangs clunks etc. and deadly accurate out to 30+ yds. My example doesn't have the but
ugly gold Beeman emblem either. It is made in Spain . I really like it better than any of my Gamo's except maybe my CfX.
If forced to chose I'd probably take the GH 950.
