General Comments

When I purchased the P3 I intended to use it as a
beginners NRA match air pistol which is fired in the Olympic style with one hand. I found that it was not ideally suited for that. It did had a nice light trigger and adjustable sights, but its
shorter sighting radius, light muzzle and slippery
plastic grip proved to be frustrating. Also, the
large hump on the backstrap of the grip was too
uncomfortable for my hand. It did help to wrap the
grip with a thin synthetic material. However, the
pistol's major drawback was the premature wear of
the gun's main seal. It was suppose to be a self
lubricating seal but I found that as the seal wore in, it would become uneven inside the cylinder and need time to smooth out and produce air pressure reliably again. I estimate that I only fired the pistol 5-6,000 shots max., but the seal was purported to last 2 or 3 times that amount. Imagine what I thought when the Marksman clone went on sale at WalMart for $40 now 2-3 years later. While the pistol did provide a degree of enjoyment, I now feel that it was mostly of a hollow nature since much of it was the result of struggling to periodically overcome the gun's faults.

Believe me, the Wal-Mart Marksman clone is absolute rubbish. See my review where the piston went belly up after just a few pellets. When I took it back the customer service desk mumbled something along the lines, "Oh great, we can't get rid of these things on clearance, either". Guess I should have been suspicious when the price dropped to $30.

Thought it was funny when she back hand tossed the gun into a trash can nearby after giving me my money back. I'm sure they'll return it to Marksman but they don't seem enthused by the ordeal.

While I did mention the relative cost of the Marksman clone in passing, my comments about the P3 were strictly objective from my own personal experience. That being said, the subsequent "disagree" by ted3929 regarding my P3 review is I believe, unwarranted since he never purchased a P3 to rate, and I didn't refer to the quality of the Marksman but rather only that of the P3.

First of all Main seal durability; I have had no problem under the worst of conditions, heavy usage, followed by no use at all.
Minimal Velocity; It's a single stroke pneumatic pistol, with the velocity stated on the box.
I'll give you the slippery plastic grip, depending on the relative humidity of your location.
Light muzzle? I guess that's a matter of personal taste.
I have not owned 'the cheap chinese copy' of this gun, I would refer you to the reviews, they range from 'usable with a little work' to trash.

Theres nothing wrong with this gun. It's absolute quality and I've never had a seal problem. When you have to get down to whining about slippery grips when you sweat you're grasping at straws. Buy a pair of friggin gloves!!!!
