Brilliant matches on the whole
If you only watch one Pay Per View from 2002 then make it this one.
Nothing more mentioning
WWE Summerslam 2002 was for my dollar the best event of the year with a string of hot matches and few duds.
Kurt Angle v Rey Mysterio: Top quality match between two of the best at the very top of their game. Great way to open the show.
Ric Flair v Chris Jericho: Not a classic but the charisma of these the Nature Boy and Y2J carried them over the finish line.
Edge v Eddie Guerrero: One for the purists here, a long match bordering on brilliant.
Tag team Championship - Lance Storm & Christian v Booker T & Goldust: Typical bad guys v good guys fare, good crowd interaction due to the patriotic storyline involved.
Intercontinental Championship: Chris Benoit v RVD: A truly great match between two future main event players.
Undertaker v Test: The Deadman carried Test to a decent match in this clash of the big hitters.
Shawn Michaels v Triple H: Match of the night and a match of the year contender. Lots of high class technical wrestling mixed with weapons, blood and gore will make this one for the record books. Just how does HBK keep on delivering?
WWE Undisputed Championship - The Rock v Brock Lesnar: A great main event which saw the Rock 'pass the torch' to The next Big Thing. A must-see confrontation.
