General Comments
Make no mistake about it, the Apple U2 iPod is just a gimmick and nothing extra special from a technical standpoint. That said, I still like it.
I have a varied and sophisticated musical taste and being somewhat of an expert in musical fields, I would not download classical music onto this player. However I am pleased to report that it gives off good sound quality for many other genres of music.
As I said before, from a technological perspective, this is nothing more than a standard 20 gig iPod. You cannot deny though that it exudes more style as the funky red and black colour combo is much more fun than the plain old white iPod.
The earphone quality is top quality and that is what has given this product the edge and pushed it into 8 out of 10 territory. However for the price tag, I would expect a bit more and I'm not sure how many U2 fans would actually buy into, what is in reality, a cheap marketing ploy.
