General Comments

Gamo Hunter 890(.177 cal.)- I hope you are reading this article before you purchase this rifle. If you must have a Gamo product, stick with a cheaper model, don't pay very much. I think they just dressed this one up and placed a higher price tag on it. I do not consider myself an air rifle expert, but I am an active sportsmen, and fisherman. I know that in order to have fun with a hobby you need to have pretty good equipment. I found this product to be too heavy, and bulky. It was not a pleasure to shoot at all. The wood stock was so thick that I felt like I was trying to hold a landscape timber. When I shot it, it jumped round like a pogo stick and made a big caaaaank sound. I sent this rifle back, and for the same money I got a Beeman R9 .177 (without scope). I cannot beleive how bad I got ripped off with the Gamo. It went from bulky, to streamline, lighter weight, easier to hold, and a nice quick kerplunk when I shot. The vibration is almost undetectable, you have to think about it to recall if it happened.

Not at all. The recoil and vibration described are specific for all gamo breaking barrel air rifles. Hunter 890s has a good dovetail for scope mount and power enough with little cocking effort.
