Good Points

Great on A and B roads. Entertaining for a track day car. Desite sporting pedigree you can get 3 kids in the back. 25 mpg when not pushing.

Bad Points

Breaks struggle to keep up. Scary in the wet. SMG gearbox too clunky for easy town driving.

General Comments

My last car was 993 (4wd). 3rd child put pay to that. The BMW M3 Coupe Sports Car is a worthy replacment but I still have to agree with " if you want a porsche , get a porsche!"
The m3 is fast enough for sure, but aside from the awesome acceleration it somehow lacks the raw excitement of the porsche.

Hmm. This guy isn't driving any BMW I have driven before. I have owned two M3s - last was an 04 coupe that I stupidly traded for a Jag XKR.
I have owned Vipers, Porches, Vettes, Cobras and other inferior specimens of the sports variety and NONE tune you into the road and the control of it like the M3. BMW BRAKES ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST IT EVER GETS. Value and comparison to Porche? Certainly, if you want to walk the walk Stutgart style, prepare to whip out at least 40g
more to get NEARLY the same thrill in a much more spartan package. The 993 numbed your neurotransmitters.
