Good Points

More or less on gondola doorstep, good food, opposite ski hire shop, supermarket and pharmacy, central for other restaurants and bars.


Bad Points

Old and worn bedlinen and towels, pillows flatter than pancakes, matress (could feel all the springs), room was cold and cramped with condesation causing wet floors. Towels and other essentials not always replenished unless requested.


General Comments

Hotel Micolau was in the perfect location, central to everything and the skiing was fantastic. I would highly recommend ski school, by the end of the week we were good enough to complete red runs.
Weather was a bit rough some days with strong winds and heavy snowfall but this didn't matter as this created loads of fresh powder to ski on. Excellent skiing, ski instruction, snow and tax free shopping made this an ideal beginners holiday that was only marred by the sub-standard accomodation. After talking with other skiers I would recommend staying at the Hotel Princesa and eating at Hotel Micolau.

    Be warned as this hotel is very tiny and mostly made for children! You can bearly fit two adults in some rooms and the bathrooms are seperate from the rooms. Some bathrooms are the other side and at the other end of the hallway. So ensure you book a room with a bathroom in it if thats what you require as this information is not reflected on booking. Quite good food but very cheap and cheerful!!! so just ensure you're prepared for the tiny rooms and thin walls as ALL noises could be heard! Generally staff were friendly and good location other than size.
