I bought this unit because Consumer Reports rated it very highly at the time. I also have had the same problems everyone here has mentioned. DVDs will skip, and I especially have had problems near the ends of movies. My PS2 plays DVDS better than this one that cost $250.00. What I want to know is this. Has anyone found out what the problem is with this unit? I would think there has to be something wrong with how the belt is positioning the laser, especially since it always screws up at the ends of movies. I'd be interested to know if, anyone has any info on it.
