Superb build qaulity
Simple straight forward design
Slight lack of power in Bass
I really loved the Cambridge Audio A1 Amp, it was my first venture into seperate Hi-Fi systems 7 years ago, I used it for 6 years & it never gave in! Every time I turned it on, cranked up the volume it sounded as it did when brand new. I payed £70 for it all those years ago & I believe it still sells for roughly the same amount now. So for 7 years this amp has stayed strong, not lost it's value & still gives other more expensive amps a kick up the backside. I would highly recommend this amplifier to people looking for their first system. It gives tremendous sound quality for the price & will not fail to impress when heard. The design is simple & takes no time to become acustomed so you use it straight out of the box with no hassle or fuss. The only area that let me down slighlty was the bass. It didn't quite have the power I wanted, but to be fair it was for Hip Hop music which requires a little more anyway. In it's last couple of years of service to me, I linked the amp to my computer & it really brought games to life. It's not the ideal solution for PC games or the correct use for an amp but it blew me away that I could hear so much more from the games. It also meant that I could have a collection of MP3's & then play them directly off of the computer for convenience.
