General Comments

RWS Career 707 - I owned both .22 RWS 707 rifle and RWS 710 Tanker (same barrel length as RWS 707 Carbine). I found that the penetration power of the rifle is around 30% stronger than the tanker. I bought the tanker and it has the air-leakage problem initially, though the problem have been fixed up immediately by my agent. In comparision with this incidence, I found 707 is much more stable in it's quality and it never have any comments of air-leakage problem from my friends owning this model too. However, the tanker version is lighter and easy to carry in the field. You can als buy a extra removable tank as a reserve for 710 and don't have to carry the heavy scuba tank all the way during 1 week hunting trip for the 707's air-tank was fixed. I also tested both models in shooting an iron-plate with 50 yard distances by using 28g RWS Uitra mag and both models didn't have any problem to shoot through it! How amazing they are!

Further to my review on Jan 2005. I test the Career by using steel made .22 pellet (7.8g) which I purchased in England. The penetration power could be increased upto 25% when compared with using lead pellet (28g) in the past. Lighter and harder pellet may increase the fps. The bad point of using full steel made pellets is that it may damage the inner structure of the barrel.

I bought those steel-made pellets in Australia, Melbourne. But they're made in England.

I have recently purchased a 707 in .22 cal and found that if I dial the power down to four clicks above the very lowest position that I can use the 28 grain ultras or just regular flat nosed pellets that are about 14 grains and they both still are able to penetrate from 3/4" to 1" into a piece of wood also I have shot up to 94 shots and did not have to air up again this was also enough to send the 14 grain pellet through a soup can and give the pellet trap behind it a solid hit this was at only 15 yards I should also mention that at this setting the gun is silent. And with the proper back stop can be used in your back yard. This gun has a lot of power but that does not mean that you have to use it unless you are hunting and shooting from a distance that requires more power I should also mention that in order to get to this setting the rifle must be cocked first it is best to have the safety engaged when doing this. That is one of the good points to this rifle you can set it at any power level that you want. I also found that it is a accurate rifle. Be safe and have fun
