Good Points

The battle system is very original and gives the non-waiting-your-turn feeling. Unlike FF, in Grandia your characters can be almost anywhere on the screen instead of in a tidy little row. Everything is constantly in motion so it's less monotone. The plot was one of the good ones but without more praise than that. The characters evolve during the game which is a sign of a relistic story and typical RPG.

Bad Points

The battles sometimes stretch a bit too long out of that confort zone. It's not the ideal thing when you have a board meeting in 10 minutes and your kicking some boss' ass and you have to shut off your game because you won't be back till' tommorow. The magic coin system is a bit too much for me, a simple exp-skill system would have done it for me. But with their intended sense of originality, they failed to captivate my praise...

General Comments

I agrre with most of the reviews, Grandia 2 is a pretty good game. Not a Final Fantasy or Front Mission put it kept me playing to the very end. The graphics have a nice little original cartoonish 3-D effect and it impressed me. All in all the storyline, gameplay, battles etc were just above average. I didn't expect much from this game(it being my first Grandia) but I was pleasantly suprised.
