I think those who rate this album less than a 9 are silly. I don't care if you've heard all of his underground music, compared to the rap album of all time "Life After Death" destroys them. This album is epic and probably one of the best if not the best rap album I've ever heard.
It's true that the fact that this is a double album is kind of annoying, and it would have been nicer if it was more compact, and in comparison to "Ready To Die" there is a little less of the character hardcore rap feel, but that is only because puff daddy had a more active role in this one.
This album, Notorious BIG, Life After Death, is truly epic. It merits at least a 9.5 and any one who begs to differ has no taste in hardcore rap. It maybe true that "Ready To Die" was slightly more hardcore but in both cases Notorious BIG's laid back, monotonous flow is infectious and never wears thin. RIP B.I.G
