Good Points

Very cheap, books you'll probably not find elsewhere, cheap and quite fast postage, reliable service.


Bad Points

Not the widest selection, when a book is gone it's gone(these are overstocks etc. so no re-ordering!)


General Comments

www.psbooks.co.uk is the online home of Postscript books, a mail-order catalogue previously which has now found it's way online. The mail order service is still there but they say the website offers the most up to date listings of their stock so you're better off shopping online to avoid disappointment.

Postscript as a company offer overstock and discontinued books as very cheap prices for your purchasing pleasure. As such, you'll not be expecting an enormous selection but they are a great place to pick up the kind of book you won't find somewhere like Amazon and for a really great price. Taking an interesting example from their homepage right now, they have "Ursus Nomine Paddington", Paddington Bear in Latin(I kid you not!), for £4.99 which is half price! OK, so most examples are more mainstream than this but it's an interesting example ;o)

Browsing the site is simple and recommended because you often come across some real gems here in doing so, although it can be quite a strain on your purse strings! All those budget prices are just soooo tempting! Prices are usually at least half the cover price and often much lower than that and you can find all kinds of books here so there's something for all tastes.

Delivery is £1.80 for the first book and then £3.00 maximum if you order 3 or more, so you can order 100 and still only pay £3. Postscript does deliver outside the UK as well but you'll have to look at their pricing table for these prices...it's a little too complicated to talk of here! The orders I've made (OK...'order') arrived 3 days after the order was placed which is good enough for me so I'm happy with them.

Overall, I find the site a joy to use and ordering from them a pleasure. No, it's not going to replace Amazon or whoever your favourite online book retailer is amongst your favourites but it's well worth bookmarking and visiting say, once a week, if you're an avid reader because they're always adding new stock and there are plenty of interesting bargains to be had here.
