Good Points

Nice interface. The engine maximizes download speed by connecting to several machines for a song, while minimizing upload bandwidth to other users. Nice detail of users and songs. Can chat with other users.


General Comments

Mp3downloading.com - I'm a SysAdmin for a large company in California. I was skeptical (and still am) about joining a P2P network. Threads to other machines are encrypted using SHA. All the negative comments in other reviews are probably due to firewall problems. I had a problem at first, but set my firewall to forward port 6346 to my downloading machine. Also had to config SHAREAZA (Etomi) to tell it to "Accept Incoming Connections." No problems downloading. I've pulled 150 songs since 12/28/04..... and still waiting to pull down a virus? Just be sure to have a good antivirus application running and a software firewall with intrusion detection.

So far.... So good!

    I had all the same problems at the start and tried to get in touch with the company with no luck. I did all the same things as you have mentioned and then the program would not work so I decided to look at the peer guardian I got along with the program and found this is what was stopping mp3 from working. You have to uncheck the the blocked ip address box in peer guardian after it loads then log into MP3downloading then go back to peer guardian and check the blocked ip addresss box and everything worked fine for me after that. I have downloaded so many songs i have lost count and saved a lot of money on movie downloads, the program has paid for it'self many times. If you have peer guardian with the program it is worth taking a look to see if this is what is stopping MP3Downloading from working properly. I rate it 10 out of 10.
