Good Points

Sounds absolutely fantastic - refined power
Looks superb
Discreet all shielded speakers
Intergrated control module and centre speaker
Excellent sub with hifi quality intergrated amp with Dolby decoder built in.
Co-ax and Optical toslink audio connectivity

Bad Points

Bespoke ribbon cable which connects cente speaker/control module to the sub/amp is only 12 feet long and limits the sub's placement.
Electro-luminescent display on the centre speaker can be hard to read at a distance.
Surround speakers appear a bit plasticky at first (but they are great)

General Comments

I've read that the Digitheatre Platinum was regarded as the best under-£1000.00 upgrade you could get for your home cinema set up by one of the leading magazines. When it was going for around £380.00 everywhere else I spotted it for £199.99. I snapped it up and wow. Forget those cheapo alternatives in the catalogue shops which may look similar. Pure are a class act. I've had it for 12 months now and it is utterly breathtaking, refined and totally reliable. DTS and 5.1 ready. Even delivers Pro-logic and straight forward Dolby Surround when required as well as normal nicam stereo and a host of pre-set sound modes. In a standard semi-detached house you can't even get close to half power before the sub scares the neighbours. Incredible audio playback too. Most people could ditch their hi-fi systems.

Audiofiles and Videofiles may not settle for it but they would still be impressed.

Last time I looked it was back up to around £550.00

I probably wouldn't pay that now but £380.00 would still be a bargain today.
