Feels like an SLR camera
Good quality images
Very helpful and explanatory manual
A lot of camera for a reasonable price
The time delay on taking a shot
A little on the heavy side
Only supplied with a 16mb card
The Fuji Finepix S7000 is my first digital camera. I was already using a Canon SLR so I wanted something similar but couldn't afford a digital SLR. This camera feels just like a SLR camera. The manual is very detailed and with a bit of reading and practice you soon become familiar with the different modes and settings. The flash unit is particularly good as it is not activated unless you choose to activate it manually. An external flash can also be added. The camera is a little heavy but the quality of the images is worth the weight. I use rechargeable batteries and always carry a spare set and charger.
As with all cameras I had a few teething problems especially with getting distance shots in focus, but I am now getting used to the different settings. The camera can be tripod mounted and you can use a shutter release. The macro setting is great. All in all I'm really pleased with this camera and the quality of photographs produced, but I wouldn't recommend it to a complete beginner. I do feel that you need some photography skills to get the best out of the camera.
