It can be very hot, 5 and a half hour flight, the eqyptians are underpaid but remain very pleasent, meals are buffet style, massive choice but after a week I'd rather a steak.

Ok, there are lots of reviews, but I've been twice to Hyatt Regency Hotel with family and parents and found it to be a very rewarding experience. Remember we are in the east of Egypt, and Taba is basically 4 hotels a half mile apart from each other set on a man made gentle protrusion into the Gulf of Akaba (red sea). Outside the resort it is like a Martian landscape, mountains, red and rocky arid dust. Nothing grows; nothing lives, so all the more amazing how fertile the hotel grounds are. It can be hot, e.g. 43 C in July, even 27 C in Oct, and almost never rains. What makes the resort special is the architecture, its classical Egyptian style, varying shades of red orange, no more than 2 storey tall anywhere, set in huge grounds where the plants are mature and often 15 foot tall, fully leaved, wonderful flowers, wandering paths between the Egyptian style blocks, reducing the impression of being over looked? The air is warm at night, never seen any cockroaches, the lawns are immaculate, thick springy real green grass, better than anything in the UK (How do they do it). The beach is wide flat and man made, but the red sea and snorkelling is so easy off a massive jetty that you simply must do it. (Waves when calm 1 inch tall, but can be gentle to 2 foot in wind)
This resort is meant to be a week of total R+R, as its so far from anywhere, though Israel is a half hour away. Trips are time consuming bar a local camel ride. Takes several books, ask for a kettle, take tea bags and some wine , and then read, bake, take a dip, get out read some more, fall asleep, take another dip, get hot again, read sleep eat take a dip. The cycle goes on and on and is surprisingly restful. By 10pm its time for sleep in a nicely air-conditioned room. The massage area has Thai girls who for a reasonable £50 will give you three 1 hours' sessions. Wonderful. Its not everyone cup of tea, it's too hot to have carpet and heavy fabrics, but it's clean and quiet. The buffet becomes a tad taxing/ slightly hurried and un appetising after the 1st few days but then remember the price you paid! So for the money and assured weather in a truly amazing setting, provided you can have a bit of patience with the staff who are paid very little. The week will be just superb.
