Excellent build quality. Very simple to use. Useful flash options and manual compensation of exposures.
Bad Points
1.3 megapixels is ok for 6x4 prints. Go much bigger and you,ll see a marked loss of quality
General Comments
I recently purchased an MX-1200 from Currys for the princely sum of £99:00. At this price it is amazing value for money for anyone who wants to take family snapshots, or send pictures over the net.
The lens is pin sharp, exposures are reliable, and there are just enough features to make using the camera interesting without making it complicated.
Colour reproduction is very good, and the screen is a joy to use, with a digital zoom facility, and very good on-screen information.
My MX-1200 has four AA batteries, and I can only assume that Fuji have up-dated the camera. I have found no problem with excessive power drain, particularly if the camera is used in energy saving mode.
As an entry to digital photography the MX-1200 is excellent value for money, and is a street ahead of anything else in this price range. I would give it 8/10 overall
