General Comments

Just returned from a 3-day stay at Hotel New Otani in Clarke Quay, Singapore. It's a great hotel! Very clean, huge comfortable beds, large spacious marble bathroom with both shower and bathtub, complimentary yukata (Japanese bathrobe) for personal use during stay, and best of all : an excellent view of the Singapore river!

The room does not come with breakfast, so you'll have to pay for it, which I find rather expensive. It'd be cheaper to eat downstairs in Liang Court (the adjoining shopping complex below the hotel) which has Starbucks and McDonald's. The shopping complex is another plus point for the hotel, as it has a 7-11, Meidi-ya supermarket, Kinokuniya bookshop and even a beauty parlour!

Location is excellent, a leisurely 10-minute walk to the Clarke Quay MRT station, a bus stop just right opposite McDonald's, and abundant taxis at the hotel doorstep. It is also within walking distance to City Hall (20 minutes) and Chinatown (15 minutes).

All in all, perfect location with very comfortable and clean rooms - a great hotel choice, if price were not a factor.
