The Morphy Richards 47505 Roma Stainless Steel Pump Espresso Coffee Maker does not heat the water to a sufficient temperature to extract the maximum flavour from the coffee grounds.

I am utterly disappointed with my Coffee Maker. I have read and re-read the instructions but as yet have not enjoyed one single coffee. The coffee is luke warm to medium, the liquid drizzles out unequally, the left side producing more than the right. You can't tamp down sufficiently to put 2 scoops in the two scoop filter holder and consequently the coffee is always weak. The crema is non existent. Finally the frother is adequate only. You can get a better froth by whisking up milk in a pan and doing it separately. I am going to contact MR and complain.

Are you grinding your own coffee or using pre-ground? It sounds like you haven't got a fine enough grind. The coffee should pour equally if the machine is absolutely clean, but it's a problem even the most expensive machines sometimes have. All you need to to is make sure it's not that you're tamping unevenly and then ask MR for a new portafilter.
