Good Points

I'm telling you about a 1999 Seville STS formerly used by the Main Director of Vauxhall Motors in Luton, imported by Vauxhall. With 0nly 24,000 miles, fully-loaded and in showroom condition this was a steal at £9,500. This is real motoring, American style with a classic European design. The power is incredible (0 to 60 mph of under 7 seconds, a surprising economy of up to 29 miles per(English) and every creature comfort you can imagine. Pricey if you bought it new at around £39,000, but at less than a quarter of this it is the best deal by far I have ever made. Modified by Cadillac with factory-approved suspension to suit European roads. Low maintenance costs - cheaper by far than other cars in its class.A dream to own and drive with the couple of minor exceptions listed below.


Bad Points

Suspension not yet perfect for imperfect British roads. Technics are complicated for a computer illiterate. Mixed fuel consumption averages around 20 mpg. Gallons are computerised in the USA measure (1 gall UK = 1.2 gall USA) so you need to add 17% more to the computer mpg to get the corresponding UK equivalent.


General Comments

This a prestige car to own - if you drove 100,000 miles a year, your chances of seeing a similar model in the UK during that year would be 21300-1 odds against. This is, on balance (at my buying price, at least, and considering the immaculate condition) unparalled value. Even as a long term fan of Rolls-Royce, BMW and Mercedes over almost 40 years - it stands head and shoulders above this in this respect alone. A real show-stopper. Not for sale (yet).
