Good Points

Excellent value. Extremely accurate. Decent sights. Adequate grips. Quiet.

Bad Points

The grips could use improvement. The design is innovative, but prone to breech seal wear.

General Comments

I thoroughly enjoy shooting this Baikal IZH-46M gun. It is tremendously accurate and shoots 7.9 grain Crosman Premiers at a consistent 430 fps. It will consistently place groups within one hole at 10 meters. I have set up the gun for plinking and pigeon removal (within 10-15 meters only). The gun is fitted with B-square base & mounts and a 4x pistol scope and a shoulderstock of my own creation. I can easily obtain 5 shot groups of .1 inches or less, offhand. I live in an urban area and the gun does not disturb my neighbors, though I wish a silencer were available to eliminate the relatively weak 'crack'. There are few negative things to say about the 46M. The breech design will cause seal wear if you forget to unlatch the breech after use. The grips leave a bit to be desired. However, this gun represents excellent value for the money. This is an Olympic grade pistol available for a paltry $240-275US.

Can you tell us more about mounting the scope and the shoulderstock that you made? I just picked up my IZH-46M, and am interested in the modifications that you made. I was torn between a pistol and the accuracy of a rifle with shoulder stock/scope, but really like what I was reading about this model. With your mods, it seems like the best of both worlds. My email is FiftyNineR69@attbi.com if you want to contact me directly.
