Good Points
Solid construction..yet flexable for crawling. Pretty rugged wheeler.
Bad Points
Not as common as a jeep, therefore parts for real mods are dificult to find.
General Comments
I have had my '88 Trooper II in every kind of terrain available in the New England area...believe me when I say, It is MORE than just a little capable. It easily sloshes through water, mud, snow and sand. I have spent a decent amount of money on larger, more agressive tires with rims, a suspension lift, higher torque camshaft, exhuast header, a rear locker, taller gear sets for both axles, custom front bumper with a winch, cutom rear bumper with a winch saddle, custom made roof basket with spare tire, and a stick mod for the T-case so I can creep in 2x4. I bought the Isuzu Trooper 5 years ago with 88,000 mi on it, it now has 174,000. I wouldn't even hesitate to insert the key and go trailing at just a moments notice. It has far more durable then the previous 2 4WD vehicles I owned. All in all, It has been awesome!
