Good Points

The weight is just right to carry afield, sturdy but not heavy.
No need for a fancy walnut stock in a field rifle, so no worries about the finish.
The action is smooth and simple.
The build quality is fine. A no nonsence sturdy working rifle.
The muzzle is threaded for any .5x20 supressor.

Bad Points

I only wish for a built in pressure gauge in case one loses count of shots fired.

General Comments

I find the BSA TechStar to be a fine working field rifle, the action is smooth and the trigger is fine for my use but it is adjustible to taste.
I have had no problem using a handpump.
While the stock is not fine walnut I would not want a field rifle that I had to worry about the wood.
Using Flitz polish will bring the bluing to a high shine if desired and also protects the finish from acidic fingerprints.
It can be somewhat loud without a supressor but with one all one hears is the twang of the hammer spring and pellet impact.
I find the accuracy is excellent and it has power to spare.
All in all I don't believe you can find a better value for the money rifle.

    Good Review!

I am considering the BSA TechStar as a good .22 cal alternative to the Chinese B-51 pcp.

How much muzzle energy are you getting from your TechStar? Would you be able to test Beeman Kodiaks 21.1 gr. and Eun Jin 29.0 gr. on the highest setting?

    Thanks,
    Eddie Reyes

Yes, I have tested with Beeman Kodiak 21 grn. pellets and it chrono'd out to 36.29 Ft. Lbs. of energy.
    Its a keeper.
I have also just recieved the B-50 and will do a report as soon as I get a Foster fitting as one does not come with the rifle.
With the BSA Techstar it comes complete with probe.
