Good Points

Invigorating taste, enjoyable at room temperature as well as chilled, often discounted price, Scotland's best export, it's a more 'manly' drink than any alcohol you could mention.

Bad Points

Not stocked in enough newsagents, the 'diet' version is horrendous, like most soft drinks it tastes nasty when flat.

General Comments

Barrs Iron Bru alone justifies Scotland's existence. I'd love to know the ingredients of this concoction. My on/off love affair with this fine beverage is legendary. With only the odd exception, I wouldn't let any other soft drink rot my teeth or bloat my belly. I wonder if it actually tastes better if you drink it in Scotland ? Do they have a 'special reserve' up there for the natives ? Considering how good the exported stuff is, I can only dream of finding out. I've bent a girder after drinking just a few sips too (honest!). A great substitute if you don't like Spinach. Also, I disagree profusely with the previous review here that says it tastes like bubblegum. Nothing like it. If anything, it's fundamental taste is pepper-like in nature. Maybe a hint of ginger too, but barely enough to register. It is a most unique taste. To conclude, I've tried a lot of soft drinks, and this is by far the best. Almost makes me proud to be Scottish (even though I'm English).
