Good Points

Compact (small enough to put in a pocket) with good feel
Showerproof with metal body
3x optical zoom
Effective 4x digital zoom
Neat photo review with zoom
Easy to use
Supplied PC software works well (if a little slowly - 700MHz Athlon)

Bad Points

Deleting images on the camera is a little tedious (but OK via PC link)
LCD display not really useable for composition in bright sunlight

General Comments

The Olympus Mju-300 is the first digital camera that I have owned (have used them for work over the last 7 years or so). Completely blown away by the picture quality, even with the digital zoom provided camera shake is absent (it is equivalent to a 400mm conventional lens, after all!). I couldn't really justify a higher pixel count before I bought it - definitely can't now.
Battery life seems OK (2 days of use - 100 shots + review / replay for friends) - probably the most flakey bit - a spare battery might be on my Xmas list.
