General Comments

Adebooks.co.uk is the new UK branch of the enormously useful adebooks.com website which I for one think is one of the very best websites on the net!

How often have you gone looking for a book only to find that it is out of print or seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet? Places like the auction site ebay.com are good in some respects for finding books like these and Amazon.com has a section for out of print books as well but adebooks.com is the undisputed king of the used books world!

Basically if you are looking for a book and you can't find it here then it probably never existed! I had trouble finding a book not so long ago and spent AGES hunting for it around the usual suspects with absolutely no success whatsoever until I stumbled upon this site and found 28 results!! Various used book sellers from around the world allow their databses to be browsed by this site so a search keyed in here will search various databases worldwide and come up with numerous results which is just brilliant.

There are gripes though. With used books the descriptions are often quite misleading so it's difficult to know what you are going to end up with in terms of quality and wear and tear. There is no substitute for seeing it for yourself which of course isn't possible online! There is also an ENORMOUS variation in prices sometimes with one site charging you £5 for a book and another £50 for the same one and seemingly for no reason whatsoever. DON'T be sucked in to thinking the £50 one is enormously better than the one for a fiver because it is so often not the case. Use the email support offered to find out exactly what you are getting.

Aside from those few gripes(and they aren't really gripes, but warnings to shop smarter) this is a simply excellent site and well wroth bookmarking for later(frequent!) use as I have. It's absolutely invaluable!
