Good Points

Easy to Clean, Beautiful, Fast heating, Sensitive touch controls, Front positioned touch controls

Bad Points

Child safe function means you have to press a safety button for a second or so before you can use the other touch controls but this is not a big problem, and may be an advantage if you have kids.

General Comments

The Smeg SE2640TC is a great hob, I installed mine over 6 months and love it. It heats up at a fast rate , you do not need special pans (you would need special pans with induction) so no hidden costs. Both left or right handers can use the hob and for both no reaching to the side of hot pans is needed. The heat is controlled using one of 9 levels, and the hob is rated at 6.2Kw so a 30 amp socket (up to 7.2Kw) will be enough to power it - warning - don't throw the tiny metal v shaped thing away - when you come to install the hob you need to use it as an electrical bridge in the electrical connection box of the hob if you are in the UK! (the hob is made in Italy where the poser is a different supply type) I threw mine away by mistake but Smeg were good about it and sent me a replacement.
