Eleven killer tracks that formed this truly awesome album. Very highly recommended.
None whatsoever!
Send No Flowers, Juice - In 1996, East West released this one and only album by the tragically under-heard-of grunge rock band 'Send No Flowers'. The five piece British rock outfit produced this incredible album that involved eleven truly inspired and outstanding tracks that take the listener through a veritable spectrum of sounds and musical pathways. Vocalist Matt Bradbury's vocals are haunting, with a multitude of layers and high emotion coming through on each and every track. The album produced three E.P.'s which were: 'Bitter Taste', 'Downfall' and 'Monotony'.
The tracklisting is as follows:
1. Effervescent Smile
2. Bitter Taste
3. Porcelain
4. Fireman
5. Monotony
6. Candidate
7. Sepia
8. Wrong
9. Cold
10. Downfall
11. Animal Feeder
The first track 'Effervescent Smile' is instantly likeable, throwing you into the powerful grunge sound that sets off the sound of the album. For the rest of the album you are treated to a well-produced, proficient, grunge rock album that ranges from quieter tracks such as 'Cold' and 'Candidate' to the powerful and aggressive 'Bitter Taste' and 'DownFall'. Nothing but sheer genius for every track.
The band were unfortunately dropped by East West a while back and went on to form the little heard of band Shineola where they produced a two track 7" record for the song 'Strung Out'. This record was limited to 400 copies released, with each coming in a hand-stamped sleeve. Vocalist Matt was then taken seriously ill with something like a ruptured spleen or burst appendix. They haven't been heard of since apart from their drummer Thomas Broman who played in the Ginger formed rock band Silver Ginger 5.
This album is very highly recommended for anyone who is at all interested in bands such as Alice In Chains, Cecil, Stabbing Westward, AP&S, Freak Of Nature, The Almighty or Headswim.
