Good Points
Great central location. Basic, clean and friendly staff. Quaint little courtyard.

Bad Points
Due to being so well placed and central, experienced noise late at night if windows left open. Bathroom pokey.

General Comments
Let's face it - you are out more than in when visiting a such a wonderful place. The Hotel Academia was fairly basic but is priced accordingly compared to others in the vicinity. The staff were very friendly and the service very good. Rooms were cleaned every day and you can just step out the door and you are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of wonderful Florence. The noise late at night largely consisted of drunk people (mostly British and American) staggering home and the noise at 5am in the morning was the market folk, banging and clattering and literally dragging along their stalls for set up for the day. Breakfast very basic - but the same applies in most hotels.
