General Comments

I have owned the Iriver iHP-140 for five months now and I don't know how I got by before buying one. I have a large collection of albums 900+ that I'm converting to MP3 for my home network/tv/hifi system, but I needed something to play my music away from home. After a little surfing I went and bought an Iriver due to it's large hard drive and features.
The sound quality is excellent now that I junked the original earphones and bought the In-ear units made by Sony. This gave the unit a wide response whether you play classical or rock music. The equaliser gives enough options to suit any output device you plug it into. I have plugged the unit into HiFi's and using the best equaliser setting and random play and enjoyed hours of music, 14 hours is no problem. I have stored 900 albums now, along with several large files containing photo albums and programs and I still have 20 gigs free. I like the fact I can plug it into any PC and display pictures or run programs of any size, beats a memory stick any day. I have used the radio in the UK and US without any problems.
The remote unit comes as standard with the iHP140 with all the controls of the main unit in five buttons. This makes for easy use in the car or on foot as you can store the unit out of harms way.
The things that could improve the iHP140 are the toggle switch on the main unit to navigate the menu, with the cover on the main unit the toggle is almost impossible to use unless you have long nails. You can't use random play on a single directory only on a single file or the whole directory. Lastly there is a small gap between tracks. I understand there is a software update coming soon; maybe these quirks will be addressed.
It doesn't matter how big my music collection gets I will always have enough space to store them and take them anywhere.

Hey, the iaudio also supports the mega-cool OGG Vorbis format! The sound quality of 128kbps in OGG is easily as good as CD quality! (which is 1141kbps!!!)
