Accuracy with all ammo, field stripping, overall feel
Too many plastic parts, shell halves don't want to stay together
I've got 2 UHC M9 Beretta HW, both purchased on "clearance" from Shorty's. They were probably slightly used, but very much in near-new condition.
Right off the bat they feel good in the hand, decently weighted and nicely shaped. The slide works smoothly and with less effort than I would have expected from a reasonably strong pistol.
Power is decent (not quite in the Tanfoglio's league) with MV's averaging about 260 with .12 gr BB's and almost 200 with .2's. Accuracy is as good as anything else I've tried (and better than most) with the lighter BB's, and improves quite a bit with the heavy ones.
One of the neatest things about this pistol is the way it can be field stripped. The slide comes off and the barrel and all powerplant parts come out of the slide in about 30 seconds. It goes back together almost as easily, but they really should have made the takedown lever (at least) out of metal instead of plastic...
I had a major failure with one of the guns. During cocking, the pump cylinder is engaged by 3 plastic bosses inside the slide... and one of them sheared off. This caused the entire pump assembly to cock crooked, and it did not want to catch. I was able to repair it with a special "plastic welding" epoxy, and it seems to be holding for the moment.
Other than that the only annoyance has been the way the two halves of the plastic frame tend to pull apart under the slide and around the trigger guard. They don't come completely apart, but it does make it look like a cheap plastic model (which, I guess, it is).
One last thing - I found out (guess how?) that at least some spare mags for this gun are made in China. They're definitely not as good as the originals...
