8 shots within 2 seconds
r/h grip
I bought a cb40 around 2 years ago just for the use of plinking. It was great. My first airgun looked like a real pistol, had the weight of a real pistol but the shooting accuracy was pants. I have been shooting rimfire rifles pistols since I was five, so I obviously knew that an airgun wouldn't match the accuracy of "real guns". I have lately come to realise that my inaccuracy was down to the pellets, and since I got some crossman accupell, I can shoot 10p's at 20yards...consistently.
Another problem I had with the gun was the co2 loader within the grip, for 2 years its been absolutely fine, but 8 weeks ago the lever mechanism that pushes the co2 capsule into the valve kept slipping over 2 wings within the grip (that pushes the co2 capsule into the valve). Therefore no action, I managed to take it apart to fix it, don't take this gun apart; it takes a while to put back together. It just isn't fun. A week after this happened the seal went on the valve, and my pistol had its first trip to the UK distributors of crosman its still there after 7 weeks.
But in all honesty, a co2 gun working faultlessly for over 2 years is fantastic, the only downfall being the r/h grip it a minor fault, a bit of tweaking of the clips that hold it in place an there's no movement. It's accurate as long as you have the right ammunition, the weight reduces the recoil of the gun, and you won't have to consider buying a new air pistol for a long while. If you take care of the pistol, you won't have to worry about it giving up on you. Another point is that it can provide 8 shots within 2 seconds, and is presumably the fastest firing heavyweight air pistol around, need I say more? Well yes, I do, It has a very reliable double action trigger (for accuracy pull the hammer back first and use its single action function)and as most co2 pistols have a output power of 2 ft lbs then you should only use it for punching holes in paper and other non-living things....its not powerful enough for any sort of quarry, even though pellets fired from this gun have a velocity of 430-440 fps it isn't powerful enough to humanely kill quarry so use it as it was made for, and have fun.
Also after you have used one of these, most air pistols feel like toys, I was using a walther cp99 last week and compared to the cb40, it is a plastic toy, its light, the trigger takes ages to pull and fire and the only thing I liked about it was the loading of the co2 capsule (into the grip, but in a separate magazine).
