Good Points

Light weight, modest price (shop for a well cared-for used one), nice fit and finish, easy to cock, good accuracy, good trigger, quiet.

Bad Points

None found so far unless one likes more weight for steadier holding.

General Comments

The Beeman R-7 deserves a review on this list. I bought an R-7 after seeking advice of several online air gun experts and after reading many reviews. The R-7 isn't super powerful but it's accurate and a great basement/garage shooter. Quiet - I can shoot it without waking the kids. It's a little light if you're used to target firearms but that lets it double as a good trainer for young folks and small stature adults. Easy cocking makes it a pleasure for extended shooting. Nice trigger - many say one of the best sure a breath of fresh air after my clunky old Chinese gun. PS I grade hard - there's no such thing as a perfect 10; R7 is a 9+ for me.

Nice comments on the R-7 but why not put some numbers on your claim of "good accuracy". For that matter why doesn't anybody put numbers on airgun accuracy except Beeman of course. Lots of luck getting Beeman's claimed accuracy. What kind of AVERAGE five shot group will it shoot at ten meters? At 30 meters?

My wifes R-7 in .177 caliper will hold its POA at 10 to 25yards in a 1/2" group. You will need to hold up 1" at 30 yards can go on out to 40 and still bullseye buy holding etc. Not the most powerful gun but deadly accurate POA in those ranges on Starlings etc.
This is with a Simmons 4-18X40 Pro air scope, BSA one piece mounts, and Finale Match Krugen Fur pellets, 8.18 grains. It really is a nice gun for the money easy to handle and balances perfect with a scope! If you want a 50 yarder buy something with more velocity. Have fun and be safe!

The more I read about this little gun the more I am inclined to buy one, I have A Pro Elite and two pcp,s, all full power, and one AA S400 .177 sub 12 ftlbs, for uk HFT. But, I am inclined to get a little gun for back yard plinking, and this sounds as if it will fit the bill superbly.

    boltaction.
