Good Points

Cheap to buy 2 years ago from Currys.

Bad Points

Difficult to replace door seals. This means a callout charge, even if you're good at DIY.

Noise in operation.

Only one years warranty - Hotpoint give five years parts.

General Comments

The Hoover CA230 is a UK made 1300 spin speed washing machine. If a door seal goes, you have difficulty replacing it. This means a call out charge. The next break down and this is for the scrap yard.

Hello - I have had a CA230 for six years and it has been used everyday, sometimes more than once, and it has been problem free until now. The spin cycle now sounds like an earthquake and there are bits of cement and polystyrene on the floor. Due to the excessive charges for the tradesman to be called out and fix, an upward charge of £80 plus parts, my father advised me to buy another machine. Great little machine for heavy work, but unlike the old days when you only washed once a week, we wash numerous times per week and the machines wear out quicker, therefore, all in all, this was a great buy at £240. How much would I have spent tripping to the launderette?
