General Comments

I'm not sure where the SMS (Special Mail Services) Courier Postal Delivery Service sprung from but they seem to be the courier of choice when delivering credit cards and more recently my Open University material.

I first became aware of them in December 2003 when they failed to deliver my Marks and Spencer &More credit card. Despite calling them, emailing them and then having M&S call them the card never arrived. It got so bad that I ended up cancelling the card.

In March I ended up getting an M&S card anyway because I was using the store so much. The saga repeated itself. It repeated itself again when I received another credit card. They also failed to co-ordinate the delivery of 2 credit cards issued by separate companies i.e. they left 2 notification cards days apart and I thought they must have been related to the same delivery.

They usually issue notice letters several days after attempting a delivery. One letter, despite being newly printed contained the wrong telephone number.

Most recently (03/11/2004) they have failed to deliver my Open University material. They supposedly attempted the first delivery 22/10/20004 (when I was in the house), I re-scheduled a delivery for 03/11/2004 but they attempted to deliver it on 02/11/20004 when I was in Spain. I rang them up on 03/11/2004 at 16:30 and was informed that it was on the van. At 18:10 I rang up and was told it wasn't on the van and that's when I learnt that a delivery had been attempted the day before.

As I had misplaced their original notice I didn't have their telephone number and visited the website. There are no contact details apart from the hit and miss email address. The home page is dreadful and created using MS Word. When I provided constructive feedback I was informed that no one had complained before. I would suggest that you should direct your comments to the government body that gave the licence to this company.
