Nice drive on the motorway
Components breaking, even after being replaced (parking break/ratchet, glove box, etc). Some bugs never resolved.
I had a '99 Mercedes Benz C180 Elegance Family Car from new and this was a great car...you really felt that you were driving a merc. Then I bought the new model in '01. It felt lighter and not as solid on the road. Everything in the car is flimsy, covers falling off screws, glove-box jamming, arm rest stowage jamming, parking break ratchet snapping on several occasions. Other more serious problems were the gearbox being very sticky and eventually being replaced, with the new one feeling the same. Also, the electric windows have a bug (which has never been solved) where the comfort switch would not work. The C180 is the introduction to executive cars and people like me who buy them typically have therefore had to save hard for the car. Therefore there is a feeling of being completely taken to the cleaners with a car that claims to be all that Mercedes Benz promises but infact is nothing but Lada quality sold for Mercedes Benz pricing!!!
