When I first saw the ads for this tv program I expected a Smack The Pony style sketch show. How wrong was I.
The Green Wing is a strange kind of Soap/Drama/Comedy thing that just works on all levels.
The cast are fabulous, Mark Heap as Dr Statham is just fantastic, although his character is essentially an unlikeable prat, the way Heap plays him you just have to feel for the guy. Genius.
Everyone else is brilliant to, from the gorgeous Tamsin Greig as Dr Todd to the maestro Stene Mangram as Guy.
I can't praise the programme highly enough, its the funniest thing I have seen for a long long time.
Also despite some ctisisms of it I believe the style of filming, the slow/fast motion scenes really make the show stand out and add something to make it truely unique. Anyone who says that the filming made them feel sick must faint if they ever move slightly fast.
GENIUS. Watch it and buy the DVD, (if there is one) you won't regret it.
